Recently, LifeCanada came out with its yearly abortion poll, and once again, it was shown that about 1/3 of Canadians want abortion either completely banned, or only allowed for cases of rape and incest.
In reaction to this, I ask myself: where are all the pro-life Canadians?
I know we're out there. Why aren't we more vocal? Why don't we make more noise?
I know that if most Canadian pro-lifers voted pro-life, we could make a difference.
But as it is, I know that most pro-lifers put abortion on the backburner.
Why?
I know some people say: they can influence other policy issues, whereas with abortion it's almost impossible.
I can see what they're saying with that.
But the whole point in being pro-life is that you think abortion is the killing of a human being.
Since when should legalized killing take a backseat?
There are many weaknesses to the pro-life movement in Canada, and this is a big one: pro-lifers themselves don't act like it's an important issue.
If you're one of them reading this, I want to ask you: what's pro-life legislation worth to you? What are you willing to do to save unborn children?
I'm hoping to turn this into a bit of an open thread. I'd like your thoughts on the matter.
