What Western Australians Think of Abortion

Why should we care what the rest of the world thinks of abortion?

Western Society is uncomfortable with legalized feticide. When you hear politicians, celebrities and other talking heads speak, you'd think legalized feticide is a completely accepted thing, and only "extremists" think it's wrong.

The fact is, Canada is on the extreme when it comes to legalized feticide. Just look at the laws in the West: Abortion on demand is legal in the UK up until 24 weeks; until 12 weeks in France and 10 weeks in Germany. Most Americans are against abortion except for cases of rape, incest or threat to the life of the mother.

The big problem is, though, that these people who are "merely" uncomfortable with abortion have been cowed by political correctness. They fear speaking out for fear of being branded a bigot and having to live through social repercussions. We have to encourage closet pro-lifers, and say YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

We are so often led to believe that the majority of Australians consider abortion as a relevant birth control option. This survey suggests that may not be the whole truth. Some of the findings are listed below.

58.3% of Western Australians believe that abortion involves the taking of a human life.

69.2% of Western Australians believe that by 20 weeks of pregnancy an unborn child is a human person with human rights.

63.3% of Western Australians do not support abortion for non-medical (financial or social) reasons.

88.3% of Western Australians believe abortion can harm the physical or mental health of a woman.

91.7% of Western Australians believe there should be a cooling-off period of several days between making an appointment to have an abortion and the actual operation.

Only 14.2% of Western Australians support abortion after 13 weeks of pregnancy.
