Gibson's Anti-Semitic Remarks: It was the booze

According to a NY Post Article, the arresting officer doesn't think Mel Gibson really meant his antisemitic remarks:

As for Gibson's anti-Semitic rant, Mee dismissed it as "booze talking."

An interesting tidbit:

The Oscar winner is free on $5,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in a Malibu courtroom Sept. 28.

I hope this story is followed.

If Gibson is such an antisemite, wouldn't there be people in his surroundings who'd know this? Doesn't he have enemies who'd be glad to out him? Wouldn't he have manifested this? And how could a bona fide antisemite hire a Jewish actress to play the Virgin Mary in his movie?

Maybe he is an antisemite, but so far, the evidence is not very convincing.
