This is an article by a Liberal MP in a Laval QC local paper.. Of course he wants to preserve SOW. Check out this hypocritical statement:

Liberal policy is NEVER dictated by special interest groups, certainly not feminists.
But you know, if the Liberal MP is intervening, there might be something to this campaign. I've heard the lefties getting bad vibes about this.
I have no evidence per se, but even after so long after the campaign, I'm still reading material about this. They must know something I don't. I've heard rumours, though, that it's not looking good for the feminists.

UPDATE: Here's a reason why this Liberal MP may not want Status of Women to be disbanded.
In its disclosure section, Status of Women reported that it gave over $98 000 to a feminist group that lobbies various government bodies to push the feminist agenda.:

So while the Liberal MP does not want the government to be dictated by Conservative special interests, she has no problem gettnig the government to fund a liberal special interest group to dictate to the government what its priorities should be.
This should get airplay in the blogosphere. This drips with hypocrisy.
