I am soooooo gung ho for Senate Reform. This is a teeny step in the right direction. The idea that you get a job for life for being the PM's friend is absurd. Now you only get one for eight years-- which is still unacceptable, but not as bad.

There's nothing I hate more than writing a Senator, then getting back a response I disagree with and there's NOTHING I can do about it. At least with your MP, you can say: oh yeah, will see what my vote has to say. Or you can pressure by talking to your neighbours. Or exercise some form of electoral pressure.

Not with Senators.

I just can't wait for elected Senators. I would love to work for Senator Anne Cools, she's awesome!
