Prominent Indians call for de-criminalization of gay sex

From Reuters:

"It [the law] has been used to systematically persecute, blackmail, arrest and terrorize sexual minorities," said the letter, released in New Delhi on Saturday and addressed to the government, judiciary and Indian citizens.

"It has spawned public intolerance and abuse, forcing tens of millions of gay and bisexual men and women to live in fear and secrecy, at tragic cost to them and their families."

Section 377 is often misused by police looking for a quick bribe from men whom they catch cozying up in parks or lanes.

I don't have a problem with de-criminalizing gay sex. The only problem is, you just know the slippery slope is waiting. Take it from a Canadian. You de-crim gay sex one day, the next thing you know, your tax dollars are used to support the gay agenda in schools. It's bit of a dilemma.
