Belinda's departure

I thought this thread about Belinda Stronach's departure at Calgary Grit's blog was pretty entertaining and insightful.

CG writes:

But I think we should take a moment of silence for the people this retirement will affect most - the blogging Tories. When you think of the hundreds of jokes at her expense they've posted over the past two years and the thousands of insightful comments those posts have generated ("you're sexist!", "no I'm not!"), this is clearly the biggest loss to the blogosphere since Jean Lapierre resigned his seat.

ChuckerCanuck, a Blogging Tory retorts:

Calgary Grit,

spot on. I have been singing American Pie all afternoon. And weeping.

Without Belinda, all we have left are Garth Turner, Stephane Dion, Michael Ignatieff, Joe Volpe, Ken Dryden, Hedy Fry, the Critic for the Status of Ewoks (Holland), Marlene Jennings and U Happy Kissing My Ass Brison to make fun of.

Reg Alcock: we need you.

I'm not the kind to write something witty and clever. I really wasn't born with a sense of timing. I'm more of a staircase wit.

ETA: Spinks has a zinger,too:

Contrary to popular belief, Belinda Stronach is not joining the Bloc Quebecois as Ontario’s first BQ MP.

I was a bit miffed that I couldn't comment on his blog. Spinks, allow some comments!
