Liberal Blogger: Can the CBC

Every so often, a Liberal Blogger demonstrates a modicum of common sense.

Today, it was Michelle Oliel's turn.

Israel can only do wrong in the eyes of the Communist Broadcasting Corporation. This brings me to my point -- why do we need a state-run broadcaster?

Communist Broadcasting Corporation? OMG, I've only heard that from right-wingers!

CBC news can hardly be said to support the divergent views of Canadians. The billions of dollars spent on biased reporting could be better spent elsewhere. I simply don't want to pay for it anymore.

Hear hear! When's the last time there was a right-wing documentary on the CBC? I'm sick to death of panels being composed of a right-wing liberal, a centrist liberal and left-wing liberal. Heck, I'd be glad to add anarchists and libertarians to the fray if they'd actually feature a so-con once in the while.

Werner Patels responds:

Having a national broadcaster like the CBC is very much in the interest of Canadians. Putting foreign interests (in this case, Israeli interests) first, as this Liberal has done, is about as unCanadian as you can get.

Michelle can hardly be said to be putting foreign interests ahead of others. How is it in the interests of Canadians to hear only one side of any story? Informing Canadians is acting in their interests.

To this Liberal, therefore, all I can say is this: if you cherish Israel and Israeli interests more than what's right for Canada and Canadians, then, perhaps, you should move to Israel and live there.

*Roll eyes*.
