One-fifth of British family doctors want abortion ban

The poll by doctors' newspaper Pulse found 24% of GPs would not sign referral forms for an abortion and 19% believe abortion should be illegal.

The survey of 309 GPs also found that more than half (55%) wanted the current 24-week limit for abortions to be reduced.

It sounds to me like opposition to abortion is growing, even in relatively liberal places like Britain.

Why wouldn't doctors oppose it? They know they're taking human life. But most people go into medicine to save lives and to heal people, not to kill. Even among people who believe in legalized abortion, being an abortion doctor is not a pleasant job. Even being a sanitation worker, i.e. garbageman, has more clout. After all, aren't you grateful someone hauls your garbage?

Abortion doctors just treat unborn babies like garbage.
