Elections Act seeks to allow broadcast time depending on results

During Federal Elections, political parties are all given broadcast time to be allowed to expose their parties agenda.

The Christian Heritage Party just put out a Press Release denouncing proposed rules that would allocate broadcast time based on the results of the last election.

This would put small parties at a definite disadvantage.

According to CHP Leader Ron Gray:

"It has become apparent," Gray said, "that the parties now in Parliament intend to continue to abuse the law-making authority given to them by the people of Canada, in order to retain power and privilege for themselves."

(...)

"The primary objective of all the regulations that bear upon financing and media access must be this," Gray said:"Voters have an absolute right to have full access to adequate information about all the electoral options available to them."
