Walter Robinson favours electoral reform

In response to low voter turn-out, he writes:

So what can be done? To start, we need a healthy national discussion on changing our voting system to one more proportional in nature -- and there are several models worthy of study. Our first-past-the-post framework is an outlier when we compare ourselves to other modern democracies. Heck, our political party leaders need at least 50% plus one in support to lead their own parties, so why do we settle for less when it comes to forming government?
