What if we did the same thing to Muslims?

In response to the CUPE proposal to ban Israeli academics from universities if they do not condemn the attacks on Gaza, Werner Patels writes:

Imagine if a similar resolution had been passed around by a union directed at Muslims in the wake of 9/11, calling for all Muslims to be banned from working in their jobs unless they condemned or apologized for the atrocities committed by terrorists, with whom most of them have no association whatsoever. Not only would the authors of such a resolution have made themselves the laughing stock of the nation, they would have also been guilty of major violations against the Charter and hate-crime provisions.

Your politics should not be a barrier to a university teaching job. This is really just a ploy to ideologically sanitize the university system so that students only hear one side of the issue.
