To my Canadian Readers:
It's that time of year again-- Pre-Budget Consultation. That time of year when you get to have your say about what you want in the budget.
The instructions are to send a "brief" of no more than 5 pages to the Finance Committee.
Never mind that. The deadline is Friday August 13th.
Instead, just send them an email. I wrote a quick email highlighting my priorities, which included a balanced budget, lower taxes, paying off the debt, the elimination of the Status of women agency, and an end to funding arts, sports and areas of jurisdiction that are under provincial control.
This is actually easier than answering a questionnaire on the website, which is what I did in past years.
