82% of Catholics say contraception is ‘morally acceptable’

I'm shocked it's that low. I would have said over 90%.

“I’m not afraid to admit that we have an internal catechetical challenge—a towering one—in convincing our own people of the moral beauty and coherence of what we teach. That’s a biggie,” said Dolan. “We have gotten gun-shy ... in speaking with any amount of cogency on chastity and sexual morality.”

Gun-shy. That's a charitable way of putting it.

No, it's not just priests are gun shy. A heckuva lot of them openly (and sometimes actively) oppose Catholic teaching...and the bishops allow that to happen.
