Praise the Lord: Ottawa Practice Told to Stop Doing Abortions

Sorry to disappoint, it's not 65 Bank Street.

This was a-year-and-a-half  ago, but the news is only getting out now.

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario forced the Dr. Wee-Lim Sim Medical Practice at 371 Friel St. to stop doing therapeutic abortions after the inspection.

In a July 2011 report, college inspectors wrote that the clinic wasn’t using the “minimum expected standard” of anesthetic for the procedures.

Inspectors also noted a lack of procedure manuals, fire code compliance, safety standards, control over drugs and monitoring equipment.

The clinic withdrew from the out-of-hospital clinic program in November 2011, records show.

If I said it once, I've said it a thousand times: abortion is a shady business.

If you check out his page at Rate my MD's comments. His office sounds like a pig sty.

Check out the pic from the Ottawa Citizen.

He doesn't sound too troubled about it:

“It’s only my place that the college failed because it’s not a surgical suite, but in my opinion, it’s a skill and experience and not how many tools you have, because I have been doing surgical abortions for 47 years in my office safely,” he said.

“When they came they found that I didn’t have all of these registered nurses, I didn’t have an operating table, I didn’t have all of the things that they wanted, so they decided that I couldn’t do these things, which is fine.”
Forty-seven years, huh? In what country? Was he doing back alley abortions? Makes you wonder.

I looked up the report against him. His equipment was not well-sterilized, he didn't provide sufficient infection control, and he did abortions without paracervical block.

Ouch. That's all I can say.

So this begs the question: where else are they doing abortions that we don't know about?

Still, good news! Let us thank the Lord for hearing our prayers.
