University of Toronto's Student Union Won't Recognize Men's Issues Group

"There have been several concerns that the group has been in contravention of the Ontario Human Rights Code by creating, fostering, and otherwise associating with spaces, both physical and online, which perpetuate harassment towards women."

Translation: they're against feminism.

Personally, I think masculinism is often as whiny as feminism, if not whinier. Boohoo, men are such victims-- they only run the world.

It's not that I don't think there aren't legitimate concerns regarding men. But to posit that men are somehow the unequal partner in the relations between the sexes-- give me an effin' break.

Men run the world. They always have, and they always will. When men decide they've had enough, everything will change. As it stands men generally like the way things are because it makes them less responsible and they can screw around with impunity because they know the girl is going to get the abortion. And if even that's too much of a risk, there are always escorts and p0rn0graphy.

But if men want to get together and hash out their ideas, a student union has no business rejecting accreditation.

In fact, a student union should be concerned with student conditions at the university. That's it. They shouldn't even be in the business of handing out cash, sign space and rooms.
