Seeing as this is the feast of the Immaculate Conception, I thought I'd post Marian hymn.
This is the version of Ave Maria by Nana Mouskouri is the one I grew up with. It was on the Christmas album my mother played every year, all the time.
And I never got sick of it.
I even played it at my wedding.
And when I had a household of my own, the first thing I did at Christmas time was buy the Nana Mouskouri Christmas album.
I could've put the whole album on this blog series, but again-- that would have been counterproductive.
But she sings everything right. Not a hokey note in the whole thing.
