Mayor of New York Wants to Ban Horse Carriages

This is right up there with banning extra-large pop:

Animal-rights activists say the carriage horses are overworked and claim that the city's traffic and pollution create an unsafe environment.

"They constantly breathe exhaust while dodging dangerous traffic," says the website of one anti-carriage group, New Yorkers for Clean, Livable, and Safe Streets (NYCLASS), "confined to the shafts of their carriage and their tiny stable stalls, with no access to green pastures."

Of all the problems that are plaguing New York City, they're worried about horses.

Who cares if people have to breathe that polluted air?

Who cares if ghetto kids don't have access to pasture?

Let's ban horses what they love to do.

 That'll perk them right up!

Does anyone see the irony of banning environmentally horses to accommodate polluting cars?

But maybe I should just shut my mouth right now. Don't want to give progressives any ideas...
