I can vouch for this, and it's probably truer now than it was 20 years ago when I was a leftist.
You will find some hate on the right.
But in my experience, the hate on the left far exceeds the hate on the right.
When you express in a room full of leftists an idea they disagree with, they muster up a lot of righteous indignation, express shock and eventually demonize you.
When you are in a crowd of right-wingers, you might get an eye-roll, but on the whole, there is a feeling of "agree to disagree".
