Are We Doing the Heavy Lifting for ISIS?

In the wake of the latest round of brutality for ISIS, a number of gory pictures have shown up on my facebook stream.

As I deleted those pictures, it occurred to me that they're doing exactly what they were meant to do: inspire horror and fear.

It seems to me that these images of hostages about to be killed, and being killed, have reached a saturation point. And publishing/broadcasting them is no longer a matter of simply reporting the news. They're advancing ISIS' goals.

Do we really need another picture of hostage in a jumpsuit? Do we really need another picture of ISIS putting a knife to their neck?

Maybe we should stop doing their bidding.

Just a thought.
