Cardinal Ouellet calls on Catholics to oppose SSM

I feel a bit sheepish reporting this story, as it's about a week old, but I didn't find out about it until I went on a French Catholic site. It seems that during the closing Mass of the Novena to Ste-Anne at Ste-Anne-de-Beaupre on July 26th, Cardinal Ouellet called on the faithful to oppose same-sex marriage and to express their views to their MP's.

It's about time the clergy in Quebec stand up for its beliefs!

Although Bishop Msgr Moreau from Rouyn-Noranda, won't endorse his call. Where do we get such spinelss bishops? Plus he endorses civil unions.

If Catholics in Quebec rise up, we could really get rid of gay marriage. It really all hinges on Quebec. I fear, though, that Quebeckers are too imbued with that "don't rock the boat" mentality. Come on Quebeckers, wake up!!!
