Only Conservatives can't have an ideology

Brent's Blog has a good comment on the accusation that Conservatives are "ideological":

Come on, Grits and Dippers, lay off on the accusations that your opponents have an ideology (and, by extension, you don’t have one). What’s wrong with having a foundation of beliefs upon which you build your policies and platforms?


We all have our own internal sense of what’s right and what’s wrong. I do not at all fault anyone for their system of beliefs. I might not agree with them, but don’t think it’s a crime that they believe what they do.


But, according to Liberal and NDP politicians I, as a conservative person, am not owed the same accommodation.
