US pro-lifers: Do not lose sight of the goal

I see that some American conservative pundits are criticizing Mike Huckabee for not being conservative enough.

American Pro-lifers: I am but a Canadian. I don't have a vote. But I would like to remind you all that you now have the opportunity to make substantial gains towards the greatest human rights triumph of all time: that of fetal rights.

The number one issue should be the pro-life issue. I hear good things about Mike Huckabee. The rest of the pack (with the exception of maybe Ron Paul) are either pro-aborts, iffy on the pro-life issue, or they don't have any clout.

Of course the economy is important, and defense is important, and the borders are important, and so forth. But how do you expect to get the government to respect the right to life if you do not make it your number one issue?

Don't throw away this opportunity. If a president is not pro-life, or only gives lip service to the pro-life cause, he will not advance the pro-life cause. How can he? Look at George Bush: he is pro-life (though not perfectly so) and he did not make any sweeping changes to the abortion situation. If George Bush couldn't do it, what makes you think Mitt Romney or Rudy Giuliani will?

Just remember: when you go to vote, vote pro-life. That's the main issue. The rest is secondary.
