"Banning abortion will send women back to the kitchen"

If there was ever a stupid argument against upholding fetal rights, this is it.

Do proponents of legalized abortion genuinely believe this? Do they really think that should fetal rights ever be established in Canada, women will automatically become submissive and oppressed?

I don't know any women pro-life activists who are trying to send themselves "back to the kitchen".

What is it about recognizing fetal rights that will make women so subservient that they will have no choice but to concentrate solely on domestic chores and raising chores (not that there is anything wrong with that, as Jerry Seinfeld would say).

I don't know too many pro-life women whose lives are defined solely by the home. Mine certainly isn't.

Or are proponents of legal abortion just demagogically pushing a false stereotype to advance their cause?

And what makes it okay when they do it?

If I had enough energy, I'd like to have a discussion on this. As it is, I will just allow your thoughts to be published.

And PS: Haloscan is buggy today-- some comments didn't publish. I didn't delete any.
