Morgentaler arguing

This is an audio file of Henry Morgentaler in 1970 on a CBC phone in show.

Morgentaler used his authority as a doctor to denounce a pro-life caller's view of "life" as unscientific and tries to use the fallacious argument that an embryo is like a spermatazoa.

And then he says that the embryo is a "potential human being."

And given that, that the pro-life woman should not "impose her views."

Funny how that view is imposed on all of society.

Morgentaler likes to take a completely relativistic point of view.

But you can't leave to "opinion" who is a rights bearer and who is not.

I think that the lady caller wasn't very prepared to answer his objections. See, I think one of the problems with the pro-life movement in those days is that we were not equipped. We didn't have the organization. We didn't have the know-how. We didn't have the mojo.

And I think that's why it's taken us so long to even to get where we are today.

I think things are turning around.
