Spiritual Narcissism: The New Catholic Buzz Phrase

Personally, I think this example is the most prevalent and damaging in the Church:

When people at any level in the Church decide they are not called to express the way, the truth and the life of Christ to others because it is outside their personal comfort zone, they are being narcissistic and self-referential, and they are making the Church sick.

One antidote to this is to love Truth. Not one's comfort, or having one's brain tickled with intellectual novelties. But Truth itself.

When you love Truth as Truth, you stop using yourself as a reference.You are no longer the measure of what's true or not true, or what is moral or immoral. Your feelings and comfort are not what matter. You want to know what reality is.
