Every Scottish child to have a state-appointed overseer: new bill

The reason this isn't opposed is that people assume it's normal for the government to intrude like this.

It's normal for the government to make decisions for you.

There is also a blind trust in government.

If people work for the government, it's because they only have good intentions and they never overreach their power.

They couldn't possibly want to tell you how to parent your children against your values and wishes.

If your values and desires contradict those of the government, they must be wrong!
