My Take on the Letter About the Autistic Kid That's Going Viral

I don't think it's a mom who wrote it.

What mom thinks and writes like that?

It sounds more like the mindset of a 12-year-old boy.

I mean what adult deals with a problem child by writing an anonymous letter?

What adult evaluates a child according to whether he will marry or have a job?

What adult writes sentences full of exclamation marks?

Everything about this situation suggests that it's some kid.

Not to say it isn't awful to receive such a letter.

But I suspect we're making a bigger deal out of this than it really is.

Adolescent boys have thought like this for ages.

They will continue to think like this. Many adolescent boys are just a**holes.  They think they're cool by putting down the "retards" because that supposedly builds them up.

Although I do think that there is plenty of dehumanization of the disabled, I don't think the immature mind of a teen boy really reflects the opinion of the average adult.

I think there is a kid out there who got fed up hearing the autistic boy's noises, didn't know how to stop it and wrote this mean letter.

It's nothing more sinister than that.
