Today's link dump: Pope Francis and Rob Ford

I'm kinda busy so for now it's a link dump:

Pope Francis is Time's Person of the Year. Well deserved.

Except that if I were a leftist, I wouldn't be happy with all the fawning over the guy. Sure he's for the poor and has criticized capitalism, but he still opposes abortion, homosexuality, women's ordination, etc. He might say "no" with a smile on his face, but it's still a no. Sometimes I think liberals (as opposed to genuine progressives) like a good narrative better than facts, and that's why they gloss over concrete facts that contradict their agenda.

In that vein...

Journalists! Your Intellectual and Moral Superiors:
Pope Francis seems more serious than some of his predecessors about this mission and recently released his mildly titled but far-reaching economic tract ‘Joy of the Gospel’, which has been denounced by no less a thought-leader than Rush Limbaugh as communistic.
If you read the table of contents, you see how silly it is to call it an "economic tract".

In other news...

Rob Ford's popularity is still holding, in spite of the latest allegations. All you can do is shake your head.

That's it for now!
