I want to give some clarity to the "dismemberment abortion ban" that was recently passed in Kansas. After I detail what this means, you can determine if it is a "victory" or not.
Abortions have not been banned in Kansas...a particular TYPE of abortion has been banned. Now that the D&E abortion procedure has been banned, they will simply move to another procedure. They will begin to drug these babies to the point of overdose in the womb. It usually takes between 24-48 hours for these babies to die. During that time, the baby can be felt and seen (on ultrasound) struggling for its life. After the baby has been confirmed dead, the baby will be delivered whole.
OR, they will go back to using the urea (saline) solution to kill babies. This solution is injected into the uterus and the unborn baby will drink it in. The solution painfully burns the baby from the inside out...this can take up to 72 hours.
You may wonder how I know this. Well, we were planning for this when I worked at Planned Parenthood. We already had a plan in place just in case D&E abortions were banned. They were prepared for this after the partial birth abortion ban.We haven't really done anything in the name of "progress." We have banned one barbaric practice and have replaced it with another.
Well I've been saying that abortionists might use a different method.
Maybe we need to ban more types of abortion.
