It was cleared two years ago by the FDA.
But it's not just any smartphone-- it's one specially built for the purpose.
I got wind of this when I read that the company that came up with it, Mobisante, has just produced a tablet version of their product.
I wonder if this could be of help to pro-life counseling someday. Right now an ultrasound is a very cumbersome piece of machinery. This little device might even be shared between different centres. Just a thought.
